REALIZING YOUR PURPOSE

WHAT’S YOUR PURPOSE?

Many of us have had the experience, at some point in our lives, of feeling rudderless. Perhaps it’s because of a life event: the loss of a loved one, the loss of a job or financial means or dealing with the physical and emotional toll of an illness. Sometimes, this leads to a moment of clarity where we understand that the life event took away our purpose.

For example, maybe your purpose is the respect of your colleagues and career success. You might want to be the top salesperson in your company, and use the bonus from that achievement to buy a vacation home. In such a situation, losing your job is more than just losing some financial security. The damage to your goals might leave you feeling like you are unable to achieve your purpose, and a feeling of hopelessness is the result. Or, you may be close to your partner, and may have your purpose tied to the happiness of that person. The loss of a partner can then be devastating because you might have just lost your purpose.

REDISCOVERING WHAT’S IMPORTANT

For your well-being, it is important that you have a well-defined purpose and specific goals to help you achieve it. And it is so much better if life events cannot derail your pursuit of this purpose.

But wait. What kind of purpose cannot be derailed by life events? One that is not tied to people, or things, or superficial feelings of satisfaction or happiness. It is a purpose that is not reliant on financial means. It is a purpose that needs nothing but your own desire.

The purpose is to evolve. It is to gain your Self-Realization. It is the purpose that leads you to the truth, awareness, and pure joy. The kind of joy that has no duality, that cannot be lost.
